I’ve seen every single GG DVD that’s came to market over the last 5 years. I own them ALL. GG is a hero of sorts. MVD Visual has just let the shit hit the fan with another GG DVD. GG ALLIN & THE AIDS BRIGADE: LIVE IN BOSTON ’89. With the new DVD, MVD as allowed us to witness a people’s history. Here’s the story…

“By the summer of 1989, GG Allin had been kicked out of nearly every bar & club in the Boston area. Meanwhile, the AIDS Brigade was trying everything possible to do a one time only show. We booked this show and had to dress in drag so we could disguise GG and get him into the bar that he had been banned from just a few months earlier. On August 27th, GG Allin & The AIDS Brigade played this legendary one time show at The Middle East Cafe in Cambridge, MA. This DVD documents Merle and GG jamming, band rehearsals & make up session prior to the show, as well as the full set from that night.” -Merle Allin

What’s featured here is a bizarre document of one minute in the history of GG Allin. In drag, the band is focused. GG comes across as a sadistic Wendy / Roseanne Roseanna Dana clone, as the band thumps away on some of GG’s early cunt sucking classics. The actual ‘drag’ show itself clocks in at a long 25 minutes. It’s strange, with a simple camera in a medium shot on the band over the duration. The pre-show features GG and brother/bassist – Merle Allin getting tramped up and chatting with an off-screen camera-guy. Additionally, there is some really fun BONUS footage featured here from ’93 in Seattle. GG struts the stage taunting the audience in a G-string, and leather WW II bombers hat, as he begs for oral sex from the crowd, eventually, spreading his butt-cheeks, flashing his hole, taking a poo on stage, and setting the stage a-blaze. That was the last time GG played that venue, and they hadn’t yet played a song.. ‘Let’s get rid of this smoke up here…what are we Led Zeppelin’ – GG Allin Seattle ’93

Overall this new DVD is a collector’s piece for only the true GG nutzoid. It’s a incredibly strange document of one night, when some guys in a bar band, dressed in acid drag, mounted a small stage, raped everyone with a brutal sleaze punk assault, and went home… Suck My Ass It Smells..
