No, this is not an interracial porn flick but an easy-to-watch 80′s “noir” film of John Carpenter’s skyscraper-chase tale involving a professional thief and an evil corporation stealing cars and killing anyone who gets in the way. Tommy Lee Jones and Linda Hamilton star in this dark and brooding climate of Los Angeles where it seems to be nighttime about 80% of the time with predictable car chase sequences, though the rocket-car going down Sunset Boulevard was a fun twist!
Professional Thief “Quint” (Jones) is hired by the FBI and overseen by actor (and NFL Champ) Bubba Smith playing the Agent kicking Quint’s ass to get the goods on stolen data that would indict an evil corporation and set Quint up to “retire” from the thieving business finally. Car chases, gun-play, Tommy Lee Jones as the tough-as-balls character he was meant to play, and a young and sexy Linda Hamilton in the bed with him….yep, it makes for a good 80′s flick to remember though kinda silly in the dialogue as you’ll see.
Fans of Tommy Lee Jones will enjoy this mid-80′s mission of his in a time when he wasn’t quite the award-winning actor yet and Linda Hamilton was still fresh off her on-screen success in THE TERMINATOR, and seeing her bare torso again was a treat! I give this 80′s “guy-flick” a thumbs-up with 3 shots from a .357 Magnum.
