Mondo Top Ten List:

Actresses Of The 1980′s That We Need To See More From…

For any diehard movie fan who watched films in theaters or at home over the past 20+ years, I daresay nearly every one of them has actors/actresses they’d seen and liked on screen but never saw enough of (or not at all) later on as time went by! I have a list of Hollywood Actresses that I would surely have enjoyed seeing more of after the first time, but what got in the way of that was one or two of the following reasons….

1) Career tanked.
2) Stopped acting for personal reasons
3) Got married and had a family
4) Hooked up with some schmuck who made her stop acting.
5) Pushing up daisies

For the following “gone but not forgotten” actresses of my own movie-watching decades, I give a heartfelt salute in grinning memory and since all of these ladies are alive (no obituaries posted online!) I wish them well in whatever the hell they are doing right now!

#10 – Jewel Shepard

Jewel Shepard (Return of the Living Dead, Party Camp)  is better known for her role as “Casey” in 1984’s Return of the Living Dead where she wasn’t eaten by zombies, instead being fried by a nuclear bomb that was dropped to destroy the zombie horde! Jewel Shepard was both sexy and sarcastic in her film roles, and had a perky way about her that made the guys both want her and laugh their ass off at the same time. Great body by the way, and I have to say she’s one actress I would have loved to see more of all through the 1990’s up to now. She wrote her autobiography “If I’m so Famous, How come Nobody’s heard of Me?” in 1996.  Still gorgeous to this day, Jewel Shepard is, well….a JEWEL!

#09 – Cirsten Weldon

Cirsten Weldon (The Doors, Jim Wynorski’s Hard to Die) One of the best-built young women I’ve seen on film (even if it was briefly) Cirsten Weldon can be seen in 1991’s The Doors and 1993’s Hard to Die and like many other actresses of the B-movie genre, she didn’t get the credit claim she deserved. I mean, being called “girl in car” in the credits just didn’t do a sexy lady like her justice I thought! Blessed with both a sexy but tough exterior, Cirsten had the gusto and assets to be a “action heroine” of the guy-flick film genre. Now a successful businesswoman, Cirsten Weldon remains one of the best-shaped, exotic-looking actresses I spotted back in the early 90’s film line-up!

#08 – Devin Devasquez

Devin Devasquez (Can’t Buy Me Love, Society) Devin was Playboy®  magazine’s Playmate of the Month for June 1985 and can be found in the classic 1987 teen-comedy Can’t Buy Me Love along with Actor Patrick Dempsey as well as a film entitled Society. A stunningly beautiful Spanish lady who did numerous commercials and even a controversial role on TV’s “Married With Children”, Devin was a delight to see for those who have, yet another talented and attractive actress who Hollywood should have cast in a hell of a lot more!  Now married to Actor Ronn Moss (Bold and the Beautiful) she has written a book entitled “The Naked Truth about a Pin-Up-Model” which details the life those ladies have to lead in such a profession, and was so insightful and eye-opening I think I read the whole book in less than a week!

#07 – Tane McClure

Tane McClure (The Terminator~Soundtrack, Scorned 2, Legally Blonde) Tane McClure (daughter of late Actor Doug McClure) is one of the most beautiful and multi-talented Singer/Actresses to come out of the 1980’s and I for one think that she should have been in so many other films and she made the Motion Picture Soundtrack of THE TERMINATOR a show tunes classic to this day with that awesome voice of hers! Tane starred in numerous R-rated “erotic-thriller” films during the 1990’s as well as Reese Witherspoon’s Mother in the hit comedy Legally Blonde. I saw her in a Toby Keith music video awhile back and talk about sexy….dammmn….she is gorgeous….Tane McClure was, is, and always will be a woman who melts the hearts of men!  Personally I think Tane should have been cast in 1987’s “Fatal Attraction” instead of Glenn Close! Why? Because Miss McClure has this ability to look sexy but sinister at the same time, her facial expressions while acting would have made the psycho-bitch character all the more alluring for the audience, not to mention the fact she’s better looking than Glenn Close and Sharon Stone put-together! Tane McClure works to this day but it’s mostly behind the camera, producing, etc. and she granted me an interview for my 2008 book THE MIDNIGHT SHOW so she’s still “out there”!

#06 – Bess Motta

Bess Motta (The Terminator) Bess Motta played the perky female roommate of Linda Hamilton’s “Sarah Connor” character in James Cameron’s 1984 film The Terminator  where she listened to rock music on her headphones while her boyfriend was laying-pipe to her and even when the cyborg-intruder stepped through the door to kill her thinking she was “Sarah Connor”! Cute as a button with a killer body, Bess Motta didn’t succeed in future film roles but did host an aerobics show on TV in the mid-1980’s, vanishing from fan-sight after that. I for one thought she would have been a fine actress just by the way she took a bullet from the Terminator and fell dead to the floor in her robe!

#05 – Morganna Roberts

Morganna Roberts (Indian-Made/Indian Raid, KingPin) Have to admit this one is about the briefest of the list but worth noting because she is best known for brief but busty appearances! Morganna “Kissing Bandit” Roberts made a name for herself in a b-movie called Indian-Made/Indian Raid in the 70’s and has a quick step-in appearance in the 1996 comedy Kingpin but she is better known for running out onto Major League Baseball fields with her huge knockers flopping in barely-a-shirt to run up to players and kiss them (then she usually got arrested for her trouble).  Posing in Playboy® magazine the summer of 1983, Morganna showed off her incredible body for her legion of fans (and I don’t think I’ve seen such a well-put-together female physique of that caliber since! Renown for her monster-titties, Morganna Roberts “retired” from her baseball runs and film spots for good about 7 years ago, but I for one wish she had been in more 80’s movies so we could see more of her (minus a shirt and bra!)

#04 – Jenette Goldstein

Jenette Goldstein (Aliens, Terminator 2, Titanic) Jenette Goldstein is best remembered for her role in James Cameron’s epic sci-fi film Aliens in 1986 as the tough-but-sexy “Private J. Vasquez” of the Colonial Marines, shooting it out with Alien creatures on a distant planet and almost surviving! Who could forget that sexy Latina character she portrayed so damn well (even though Jenette’s not Hispanic in real life). Loved those tits of hers bulging in the military t-shirt by the way, but after Aliens in 1986 I didn’t see her again until 1992’s Terminator 2 where she played John Connor’s foster parent. Blink and you’ll miss her in Cameron’s Titanic where she plays an Irish mother comforting her child as the ship sinks. Last I read Jenette has her own large-size bra store called “Jenette Bras”, known for its slogan “The alphabet starts at ‘D’.

#03 – Kimberly McArthur

Kimberly McArthur (Young Doctors in Love, Easy Money)  Kimberly McArthur was yet another Playboy Playmate (1982) who made it into Hollywood films starting with her tits-out performance in Young Doctors In Love where she seduced actor Dabney Coleman and later teased the hell out of Rodney Dangerfield in Easy Money by laying naked out on her back lawn then popping her big boobs out at him again in a later deleted scene of that comedy film. Kimberly was also eye-candy in 1985’s Malibu Express and even made the cover-sleeve of a record by country-western singer Mel Tillis as well as a briefly-recurring role on an afternoon soap-opera called “Santa Barbara”. She then took her beautiful face, southern-belle charms (as well as her famous boobs) into the obscurity of life far beyond Hollywood as of 1990.

#02 – Lori Sutton

Lori Sutton (Malibu Express, Fast Times at Ridgemont High) Lori Sutton was one of those “gratuitous nudity” chicks found in such 80’s guy-flicks as Up the Creek and Fast Times, her only real acting roles being in the comical Night Patrol with Linda Blair and Malibu Express with Sybil Danning. A “hottie with a body” Lori Sutton stood next to Sean Penn in Fast Times’ surfer-dream sequence and showed off that bare physique while in bed with actor Darby Hinton in Malibu Express but beyond the mid-1980’s the sultry-faced and lean-shapely blonde didn’t make any further films roles of the kind. Lori Sutton quite literally vanished from fan-sight as of 1988 and slipped quietly into obscurity.

#01 – Ola Ray

Ola Ray (Michael Jackson’s Thriller, 10 to Midnight, 48 Hours). Ola is best remembered as a Playboy Playmate (Miss June 1980) and as Michael Jackson’s sweetheart in his smash-hit “Thriller” Video. Her theatrical roles in 48 Hours with Eddie Murphy and 10 to Midnight with Charles Bronson are brief (blink and you’ll miss her!) but still good shots of the lady for fans to see! Ola had a great way of showing “fear” in her facial expressions and had the physique to match her “sexy chick” roles and despite the lack of screen time dialogue for her in her films, I saw Ola with acting talent that could have progressed to major film roles if she’d continued in Hollywood. For more on that rockin’ body of hers, check out the June 1980 issue of Playboy® magazine! Ola was in the news as recently as 2008 regarding a lawsuit against Michael Jackson over money from the Thriller video.
