“No…..this is a Bust!”
Arguably one of the goofiest movies to ever air on late-night Cable TV back in the 80’s, as well as one of the corniest! NIGHT PATROL was yet another of the goofy-cop flicks riding the popularity of the “Police Academy” films and copycats thereof, only this film was a definite adult-themed comedy added with a dose of slapstick toilet humor.
Once more, Linda Blair shows off her Petunia charms and rockin’ body during the time period where she did nudity in films, and the super-sexy blonde Lori Sutton gives a performance as rich bitch with an attitude along with the “unknown comic” Murray Langston as the lead character trying to juggle his cop job with stand-up comedy. NIGHT PATROL would never have gotten awards for its acting or it’s sets but it is very unique in the 80’s adult-comedy genre for it’s strange humor and corny jokes as well as outrageous puns and situations that’ll make you smirk even though the acting was silly.
A cameo appearance by the mega-boobed Kitten Natividad added to it’s appeal where she pops her bare boobs out during a drug bust and says “THIS IS A BUST!” then proceeds to let the two cops get high off her marijuana brownies while she and her buddies escape. Linda Blair performs a good comedy role in this one and showed that she could do such, and be sexy at the same time.
Available on DVD nowadays, this film is a good addition to any 80’s “guy-flick” collection just for it’s casting and cameos such as Kitten Natividad, Andrew Dice Clay, and little Billy Barty! Not to mention a must-have for fans of Linda Blair’s past films….and one of the few movies starring Lori Sutton (who in this writer’s opinion, should have done a lot more film roles!).
I give NIGHT PATROL a thumbs-up in the kitchen where Kitten Natividad showed us what a real BUST looked like!
