Arguably far better than the original 70′s “PIRANHA” film and far better cast, this “Grindhouse”style film won’t pack the theaters like the Twilight films do but for us guys and gals who enjoy bloody gore, funny character-acting, fantastic monsters, and gratuitous female-nudity, this film is all ours!! Starring horror thespians Elizabeth Shue and Ving Rhames along with Britain’s latest sexpot export Kelly Brook, PIRANHA in 3-D rocks the house with fast-moving suspense/horror and a body count that surpasses any of Jason and Freddy’s kill-scores, that’s for damn sure! While real piranha would shy away from human swimmers, these killer fish are not shy about swimming right up to take a bite…or a hundred! The scenes where the fish attack bikini-clad swimmers is in three words: grossly damn hilarious!.
Horrorhounds are gonna love the attack scenes and CGI in this movie was phenomenal. A colony of pre-historic piranha is awoken and released into Lake Victoria after a brief earthquake where naturally, college shitheads are indulging Spring Break along with the high-strung “Wild girls” filmmaker character (played by actor Jerry O’Connell) has a couple of tits-n-ass hotties (such as actress Kelly Brook) ready to shoot another film of the shapely sheilas out on the water and on the boat licking booze off one another….and then there’s the female Sheriff played by Elizabeth Shue (whose body rocks even at her age) with her kids in danger along with the rest of the spring-breakers as the super piranha swim to the feast! I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it but suffice it to say this film has one of the best “massacre” scenes in recent film history as well as some of the best nude scenes of it’s kind. I give PIRANHA 3-D two thumbs-up while I lick tequila off Kelly Brook’s tits.
