Kitten with a Whip – An oldie but goodie… A classic black and white film from the 60’s about a young woman (Ann Margret) who is a troubled girl who is flirting with womanhood but still has the child inside of her. This young woman is on the run from police until she breaks into a nice big home that just happens to be owned by a man whose ambition is to be a senator. Instead of calling the police about the break-in he tries to help her, whether it’s him being curious, horny, or just feeling deep sadness for this young woman. Well of course, he doesn’t know what he has gotten himself into as she constantly tries to mess with him by inviting friends over for a party or just trying to drive him nuts period! The film is an interesting piece of cinema that captures what was popular at the time that has been gone for many years. Great ending, great film, and Ann was great also I give it 3 stars.

Up in the Air – Not my usual kind of film to review but it does have of my favorite stars of “Return of the Killer Tomatoes”, George Clooney. Clooney stars has a man who most of his life is spent traveling on the road or I should say in the air traveling from city to city for a company that fires people for a living. He is constantlytraveling which of course means he doesn’t have much of a social life and doesn’t seem to care about seeing his apartment too much as most of his life is packed into this travel bag on wheels he takes everywhere with him. His job and life get turned upside down when a young, cute, college fresh, woman comes into his company and comes up with a computer program that fires people right from their office in Omaha and people do not have to travel no longer. Meantime, Clooney’s character has just met a woman who also spends her time on the road for her job and is willing to hook up whenever they are near each other. So Clooney must come to grips with his future of not traveling and trying to have an actual relationship that means something. The film is serious, funny, part documentary at times about the crappy economy but all is all around very good and interesting film to watch for any fan of film. The film also has a couple great supporting actors in Jason Bateman and the legendary “Roadhouse” star Sam Elliot. I give it 3 ½ stars.
Written & Directed By: Jim Van Bebber

Deadbeat at Dawn – A cult independent film from the late 80’s from the now famous filmmaker Jim Van Bebber who stars/directs/written/produces/stunt man, all for the film. This ultra low budget but daring film is about two gangs at war and one man who is the head of the one gang trying to leave to do the right thing for his girlfriend. Lots of boobs, blood, and gang fu go down in this film but the biggest thing of this cool little film is that Jim shows there isn’t anything you can’t do if you are also a filmmaker with no budget. Jim stars as the leader of the ‘Ravens’… When he attempts to leave the gang his girlfriend is sought out by the rival gang leader and minions and they torture and kill his girlfriend. Jim is distraught and goes on a drinking binge and visits his father, giving you a peak of his unfortunate childhood and finally decides he is going to kill himself only to be stopped by his fellow ex-gang members. They want him to help them pull off a bank job that Jim knows is a set up but goes through it to get revenge for his girlfriend. We get to see lots of gore and how a dirty white guy is able to use the karate and mad skills to kill rival gang members! A fun movie to watch but also a blueprint like “The Dead Next Door” and “The Darkness” for budding independent filmmakers to not only make a film but a film on something other than Digital film which a rare thing these days… Give it 4 stars!

Disco Fever – Think of listening and watching the Bee Gees on acid and you have this generic and odd 1978 film that is suppose to be the overseas version of “Saturday Night Fever”. Lots of disco, lots of drugs, and for the most lots of twentysomethings actors posing as high school students fucking their brains out when they aren’t discoing! This film makes it hard to keep yourself awake for exception to see the nudity but the music gets downright horrible at times and the only thing you are waiting for is “KISS” to start performing their “Dynasty” album! If you like stupid disco crap that isn’t the original “Prom Night” you’ll enjoy this, if not and just like
taking acid still avoid it. I give it a ½ star.
Directed By: Jim Wynorski

Vampirella – A mid-90’s film based on a comic book character developed by the legendary Forest J. Ackerman. The film was directed by none other than cult horror film legend Jim Wynorski with help of Roger Corman. Thirty centuries ago on a distant planet where vampires live at peace with no killing and drink blood from the rivers they must deal with a vampire named ‘Vlad’ (Roger Daltery) who refuses to be apart of their peaceful existence. Vlad about to be put to death is rescued by his cohorts and escape. Now present time a woman now known as ‘Vampirella’ has come to earth to seek out Vlad and his cohorts to seek revenge for them killing her stepfather (Angus Scrimm). With the help of Adam Van Helsing and his crew they seek to kill off Vlad and his cohorts before they put their plan in action which would have all of earth in total darkness for all the vamps to feed and take over! Its cheesy, low budget, but a lot of fun to watch as most of Wynorski’s films are. He knows how to make something big and entertaining out of nothing and sometimes along the way like this film you even are able to get a cameo from a film legend such as John Landis! Vampirella isn’t a huge comic book figure out there in the public but she does have a small but rabid fan base and this cult like film is must have for most fans. I give it 2 ½ stars.
Rock N Roll Frankenstein (1999)
Directed By: Brian O’Hara

Rock-n-Roll Frankenstein – Every idea has been pretty much been used up for Frankenstein films by now, but when you have no budget and still want to make a Frankenstein film apparently you make a gay Frankenstein film with lots of bad jokes. A fat New York music agent wants an act that has signed everything over to him so he makes all the money so he funds a project for a scientist who was about to be arrested for fucking a vagina that was brought back to life. The project is about getting all the best parts from all the dead music stars and putting them together to make the ultimate music act! But when Jim Morrison’s penis is accidentally destroyed by acid and they use Liberace’s penis which apparently makes the being or Frankenstein creation gay! Who would of thought? At first the gay creation doesn’t want to play music but with a little help he starts to make music that all teeny boppers love but there is one problem the Frankenstein has a weird unnatural urge to either bite off gerbil’s heads and stick them in his ass, or just bang gay guys. Of course out of this action you get more than your fill of bad gay jokes! Once again I cannot make this shit up if I wanted too… But its low budget, you get to hear ‘fuck’ said at least a hundred times, a couple pairs of breasts, a little gore, and one giant green penis that kills our eventual music star. I give it 2 stars.
